Crusaders Con

This event was conceived as something different than most other cons. It’s a one-of-a-kind event highlighting Young Indy’s childhood home, and we have amazing adventures scheduled for you each day!  All of the proceeds from this event will go towards restoring Young Indy’s childhood home aka Indiana Jones Bed and Breakfast. We were recently awarded one of four Most Endangered Places for 2025 by Colorado Preservation. As a “for-profit” business, we don’t have access to 100% restoration funds, we have to raise “matching funds." I’ve been working with CP for a bit now, and they are very excited as well! The house was built in 1888, and it is adobe. Parts of the beginning of the Last Crusade were filmed inside and outside the house. The Cumbres and Toltec Scenic Railway was also used in the movie. The house was neglected for many years before I bought it, and I think it deserves to be restored and maintained for everyone to enjoy.

The San Luis Valley and Antonito
The SLV is the world’s highest and largest Alpine Valley, roughly the size of Rhode Island, with only about 48,000 residents. The average elevation on the Valley floor is 7600ft. It is also a desert. We are very rural. Antonito has a population of 600. The nearest big grocery stores and a Walmart are about 35 miles one-way. Please keep that in mind for your travels here. We highly encourage you to stay hydrated. It’s also important to keep your salt, potassium, and carb intake up.  You will burn more calories and dehydrate quicker at 7888ft than you will at sea level. Altitude sickness is no fun!  The average daily temperature in October is 60f, nighttime temps can fall to 30f during that time. Also, because we are 10 feet from the sun, we highly encourage using sunscreen. There is also a possibility of snow, a small possibility, but it has happened.

Food

Some meals are included with your ticket purchase. Those are noted on the schedule. We will have amazing food trucks available at the Ranch location and the Colorado Farm Brewery location. We only have two restaurants in town, and a grill. You are welcome to dine there.

Additional information

** No pets please.  Service animals, of course, are welcome.

** Colorado is a Cannabis legal state. Most public places do not allow consumption.  We do allow consumption in designated outside areas of the bed and breakfast and at the ranch house. You must be over the age of 21 to consume cannabis, alcohol, and cigarettes at this event. It’s state law.  We do not provide cannabis, alcohol, or cigarettes. We have a Dispensary in town that we’ve set up a discount for event attendees, and there is one liquor store in town.

Please consume responsibly. We are not liable for bad decisions
